The Albanese Government has taken another step towards assuring the National Classification Scheme remains responsive to the evolving ways in which Australians consume content and media. 

The Albanese Labor Government will introduce legislation this year to enforce a minimum age for access to social media and other relevant digital platforms.

Our children are digital natives who learn, explore, connect, entertain and express themselves online. They can also wander into harm’s way.

The Albanese Government has today implemented changes to improve the Triple Zero service in response to the November 2023 Optus outage, which saw many Australians unable to access the critical service.

The Albanese and Cook Governments have today announced $16 million in joint funding to deliver better mobile coverage along highways and major roads for Western Australians who live, work or holiday in regional and remote areas.

More than 500,000 homes and businesses in Western Australia are now able to upgrade to a world-class, full fibre NBN broadband connection thanks to an Albanese Government investment.
