Infrastructure is critical to building the nation we all want and the Albanese Government’s Budget investments in infrastructure deliver the best outcome for the Australian people now and into the future.

The Albanese Government wants Australia’s regions to thrive and the Budget delivers investment in regional Australia that helps build a better future.

The Government will deliver two new regional programs in the 2022-23 October Budget to invest in much needed community infrastructure in way that is transparent, fairer and more sustainable.

Major construction is underway on Gold Coast Light Rail Stage 3 (GCLR3), with upgrades to the Southport depot and essential underground services in Broadbeach and Mermaid Beach.

The Australian Government has today appointed a new taskforce to guide the establishment of Australia’s Maritime Strategic Fleet, which will strengthen our economic sovereignty and improve national security.

The Australian Government will contribute $150 million towards the $300 million expansion of the Cairns Marine Precinct.
