Transcript – 4BC Breakfast with Laurel, Gary and Mark
LAUREL EDWARDS, HOST: She's popped by to say good day. Federal Communications Minister Michelle Rowland. Welcome to The Ekka!
MICHELLE ROWLAND, MINISTER FOR COMMUNICATIONS: Thank you. Great to be here.
EDWARDS: Hey, it's People's Day. It's going to be a really big one here at The Ekka today.
ROWLAND: I'm sure it will be. And I popped in last year as well, and it was fantastic. And I'm going to spend a little bit of time here this morning, so I can't wait.
MARK HINES, HOST: Albo did the ice cream yesterday. What's your food of choice to be photographed eating?
ROWLAND: I'm not sure. I'm a bit of a sucker for the fresh fruit and veggies display - and then taking something off the display!
GARY CLARE, HOST: I was sure you were going to say bacon lollipop, but anyway, but look.
HINES: This is a very special day for a member of your family.
ROWLAND: It is. My husband Michael in Sydney. It's his 50th birthday today and he is taking himself and our six-year-old daughter to the Matilda’s game.
EDWARDS: They got tickets!?
ROWLAND: He got tickets. Birthday present tickets to himself, and he deserves it. It’s going to be fantastic.
EDWARDS: The whole of Australia is just going to be so excited tonight. We're so looking forward to it.
ROWLAND: I think everyone is. It doesn't matter if you're in the ‘burbs or the outback or the big cities, everyone's excited in the same way.
HINES: Here's a softball political question for you. Who are you going for?
ROWLAND: I think I'll go for Australia.
HINES: Hard questions on 4BC. Sadly, that's all the time we have. Enjoy The Ekka!
ROWLAND: Thank you so much. Thanks for having me.
