Motorists are set to benefit from safer and smoother journeys on the Central Coast, with planning progressing along Empire Bay Drive between Daleys Point and Kincumber.

The Albanese Government is investing $15 million to deliver a corridor upgrade strategy for the intersections servicing Empire Bay and surrounding communities, as well as upgrades to the intersection of Empire Bay Drive and Wards Hill Road.

The project will convert the intersection of Empire Bay Drive and Wards Hill Road to a signalised T-intersection, with new ramps and line marking.

Once complete, these works will reduce the risk of crashes and improve traffic flow and vehicle access to and from Empire Bay Drive.

A new footpath on both sides of Empire Bay Drive will also be installed, with the project improving access to public transport and cycling and pedestrian connections.

To inform planning, Transport for NSW is also undertaking detailed studies along Empire Bay Drive to identify priority intersections and upgrade locations, and to investigate opportunities to improve safety, pedestrian, cyclist and vehicle access, traffic flow and network efficiency.

The community and key stakeholders will continue to be consulted as the project progresses.
