Albury Airport is safer and more efficient with the completion of major improvements that will also support future passenger growth.
Supported by $2.88 million from the Albanese Government’s Albury Wodonga Regional Projects initiative, the project extends Taxiway Alpha at the western end of the runway.
This enables more efficient aircraft landing and take-offs by reducing backtracking along the runway, streamlining operations and enhancing safety, particularly during emergency response events.
The extension also provides critical access to the airport’s Western Precinct, a priority area identified for the future development of aviation services.
The project forms part of the airport’s broader infrastructure strategy to support growing aviation demand and enable long-term expansion opportunities.
