$6.7 million Carrick Hill visitor centre plans revealed
The final design for the exciting new $6.7 million Carrick Hill Visitors Centre Pavilion has been revealed.
Images showcasing the design of the proposed new pavilion, to be constructed by project partner Cook Building, have been released.
Set to start construction early next year, the project will deliver a multi-purpose pavilion to provide enriched visitor services and amenities for international, national and local patrons.
The pavilion will offer an impressive function area with flexibility to host intimate or larger-scale events, enabling the beloved venue to increase its commercial offering, while additional car parking will meet anticipated increased visitor numbers.
Located in an elevated position adjacent the existing visitor car park, the modern and contemporary building will have a lift to improve accessibility, and will capture views to the west and north, including the manor house, view over Adelaide and the sea.
The event space, with western views, will accommodate up to 200 people, and the casual dining café with indoor and outdoor seating will also provide views to the manor house.
The local and broader community will also benefit from improved facilities, wayfinding and access to recreational walks.
The development will bring increased opportunities for volunteer involvement across the various activities on site.
The Australian Government has committed $3 million to the project, the South Australian Government $500,000 and the Carrick Hill Development Foundation $3.2 million from their fundraising and donation network.
The project is scheduled for completion in mid-2023.
