Perth's new pedestrian and cyclist bridges will open just days before Christmas on Sunday, 22 December, with a community and family-friendly evening event to celebrate the opening.

South East Queensland (SEQ) is set to become an innovation powerhouse thanks to more than $150 million of investment in infrastructure to boost the region’s innovation economy.

Swimmers in Queensland’s fastest-growing city are a step closer to having a second Olympic-sized pool to enjoy, with works now underway on the $23.1 million Beenleigh Aquatic Centre upgrade, south east of Brisbane.

The new design for the highly anticipated redevelopment of the Perth Cultural Centre (PCC) has been unveiled today, with the transformation set to make the icon the heart of the city. 

A $91 million upgrade of Cairns’ Barlow Park is set to support the region to attract more major events and ensure that Cairns will play its part in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The major structures for the new Causeway Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridges project are now in place, creating a one-kilometre-long river crossing between McCallum Park, Heirisson Island and Point Fraser, east of Perth.
