Work will soon be underway to deliver important upgrades to the Bruce Highway and Buxton Road intersection at Isis River, south of Bundaberg.
Improvements will include dedicated right and left-turn lanes into Buxton Road, the local service station and fruit orchard, as well as improved access for nearby property owners.
The upgrade will also improve freight efficiency through this busy corridor, while helping maintain traffic flow along the Bruce Highway allowing separate through and turning traffic to reduce the occurrence of rear-end crashes.
The $12.5 million project is part of the $1 billion Bruce Highway Safety Package which is funded by the Australian and Queensland governments.
This is one of the final projects to be delivered under the Bruce Highway Safety Package, while the $9 billion Bruce Highway Targeted Safety Program focusing on upgrades between Gympie and Cairns continues.
