New Green Vehicle Guide will drive better choices

The Australian Government has launched the new Green Vehicle Guide website – Australia’s official national guide to vehicle fuel consumption and environmental performance.

The redeveloped website makes it easier for Australians to quickly compare and understand a vehicle’s fuel efficiency, running costs and environmental performance.

The guide has a range of information, data and tools to help guide vehicle buyers’ choices.

Using the guide, Australians can calculate and compare total annual fuel costs and carbon dioxide emissions, estimate electric vehicle charging time and costs, find out a vehicle’s lifecycle emissions, and discover Australia’s top green vehicles.

Quotes attributable to Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government Minister Catherine King:

“To make greener choices, Australians need to be provided with clear and accurate information.

“The Green Vehicle Guide is a fantastic tool that aligns with the Government’s commitment to developing Australia’s first National Electric Vehicle Strategy, making electric cars cheaper for families who want them and reducing emissions.

“Green vehicles, including electric and fuel-efficient cars, are overall cheaper to run and maintain.

“If you want to save money on fuel and reduce your impact on the environment, I encourage you to use the Green Vehicle Guide when buying your next car – it can help you drive cheaper and greener.”
