The Albanese Government is supporting women and girls in Minyip and Murtoa to play the sports they love with a state-of-the-art new facility.
The Minyip Murtoa Football and Netball Club in regional Victoria received almost $2 million through the Play Our Way program.
The club now has a new netball court with bench seating, a netball shelter, fencing and LED lighting to keep players and spectators safer and more comfortable on and off the court.
The funding has also helped deliver new female changerooms for football, netball and swimming athletes and umpires, accessible and unisex toilets and new first aid rooms.
The facilities will support more women and girls in Minyip and Murtoa to get and stay involved in sport.
The Albanese Government’s $200 million Play Our Way grant program supports local initiatives and ideas to overcome barriers that women and girls face in participating in sport.
This includes providing safe, inclusive, quality and sustainable facilities, equipment and initiatives to help women and girls to stay involved in sport and physical activity for life.
