Critical support is now available for live music venues and festivals through the Albanese Labor Government’s successful Revive Live program.
The Government is investing an additional $25 million into Revive Live to provide vital support to the live music sector over the next two years.
The Albanese Labor Government has already delivered $7.8 million in Revive Live funding which supported 112 live music businesses, including 63 music festival-based activities and 49 live music venues.
A second round of grants is now available for live music festivals and established live music venues to support performance opportunities and foster original contemporary music by Australian artists.
Revive Live also has a focus on activities that improve accessibility and provide participation opportunities for audiences, as well as career pathways for musicians and music workers with disability.
Previous Revive Live recipients have included:
- $190,000 - Yours and Owls Festival, Wollongong, NSW: a multi-day music festival with a diverse line-up of over 100 acts across six stages, received funding for artist fees, production and accessibility costs.
- $100,000 – Desert Harmony Festival, Tennant Creek, NT: one of the Barkley regions most unique remote cultural music and arts festivals received funding for artist fees and accessibility costs.

Minister for the Arts, Tony Burke, said Revive Live will help to ensure that our local music will be the soundtrack to life in Australia.
“Gigs have always been a huge part of my life. I know the vital role live music venues and festivals play in providing local artists with the chance to perform, develop and grow audiences.
“Venues and festivals are under huge pressure. The Government established Revive Live because we want music lovers to be able to enjoy festivals and local gigs and we want artists to be able to make a career out of their music
“We are lucky to have an incredible live music ecosystem in this country and our government is committed to growing the local sector for audiences and artists.”
