New Director appointed to Bundanon Trust Board
The Albanese Labor Government has today announced the appointment of Mr Ben Maguire AM as a Director of the Bundanon Trust Board for a three-year term.
Bundanon Trust is an Australian cultural institution and living arts centre that supports the arts through its residency, education, exhibition and performance programs.
Minister for the Arts, Tony Burke, said Mr Maguire’s commitment to community service and the arts will be greatly valued by Bundanon.
“Ben has shown excellent leadership and understanding of Australia’s national cultural institutions.
“Bundanon is a unique treasure gifted to the Australian people, and I know it remains in safe hands with this appointment.”
Mr Ben Maguire AM has worked in high-level positions in the agriculture, transport, tourism, energy and hospitality sectors across Australia.
He is currently Chair of the National Museum of Australia Council. He has previously held leadership positions as Executive Manager of AGL Energy Limited, Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Trucking Association and Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame and Outback Heritage Centre.
Mr Maguire is a serving Officer in the Royal Australian Navy (Active Reserve) and is currently Director and Chief Executive Officer of Remount, a not-for-profit organisation that delivers horsemanship programs for returned service men and women and their families experiencing stress related to their service.
Mr Maguire was made a Member of the Order Australia this year for his significant service to veteran rehabilitation and support, and to the community.
The Bundanon collection and properties were gifted in trust to the Commonwealth in 1993 by renowned Australian artist Arthur Boyd and his wife Yvonne. More information about Bundanon Trust can be found at www.bundanon.com.au
