- Project to install new roof and air conditioning in the East Hills Baptist Church Hall now complete
- Works will provide a comfortable environment for all users of the Church Hall
- The Coalition Government invested $13,000 in the project
The East Hills Baptist Church has welcomed the reopening of the church hall following the installation of a new insulated roof and air conditioning that will significantly improve the amenity of the hall.
Minister for Regional Development Fiona Nash said the Coalition Government is proud to invest in local community projects.
“The Hall's original roof had deteriorated to a point where every rain storm brought the real possibility of wet patrons, making these works crucial to ensuring the hall is once again used as a central community gathering space,” Minister Nash said.
“I aim to build the kinds of communities our children and grandchildren want to either stay in or come back to, and improving shared community facilities does just that.”
Federal Member for Banks David Coleman, who joined the congregation today said the project is a welcome investment in the local community.
“It is expected that up to 2000 people will use the hall each year and it is important that parishioners and other members of the community are comfortable during services and activities,” Mr Coleman said.
This project was jointly funded by the Coalition Government ($13,000) and the East Hills Baptist Church ($24,631).
