Time running out to apply for Building Better Regions Fund
15 February 2017
- Infrastructure Projects Stream closes 28 February 2017.
- Community Investments Stream remains open until 31 March 2017.
- Time running out to lodge applications for local projects.
Minister for Regional Development Fiona Nash has reminded local councils and community groups that applications for Infrastructure Projects under the Building Better Regions Fund close in two weeks' time.
Minister Nash said the BBRF infrastructure stream will invest in projects that drive new investment across rural, regional and remote Australia.
“The strongest applications will highlight the economic benefits of the project and show how it will create ongoing jobs and strengthen the local community,” Minister Nash said.
“We've already had notification of hundreds of applications, so only the very best will be funded.
“Local communities know which projects can build their region and create jobs and I can't wait to see the completed applications when they come through.
“I aim to help build the kinds of communities our children and grandchildren either want to stay in or come back to, and delivering community-chosen projects to rural, regional and remote Australia will help do that.”
Those interested in applying for the Community Investments Stream have until 31 March to apply.
The Building Better Regions Fund follows the conclusion of the highly successful National Stronger Regions Fund, which delivered hundreds of projects across the nation. The BBRF will fund only projects in rural, regional and remote Australia.
