The purchase of new equipment for the Henley Football Club in Hindmarsh, Adelaide, will allow the club to cater for its growing membership and support sports participation in the city.
Minister for Regional Development, Territories and Local Government John McVeigh said the equipment will provide much needed uniforms for the influx of new members.
“These jerseys will help Henley Football Club cater for the wide range of people within the community who participate in football, enhancing the Club's culture of diversity,” Dr McVeigh said.
“When playing competitive sport you need to look the part, and these new uniforms will allow players to develop pride in their jersey and produce a strong team culture.”
Senator for South Australia Simon Birmingham said the purchase would allow the club to restock its medical supplies for the upcoming season.
“The money will also go towards purchasing the most essential item for a football club—footballs!” Senator Birmingham said.
“The Coalition Government is pleased to have partnered with the Henley Football Club to fund the project—I'm confident that this support will have the Henley Football Club kicking goals well into the future.”
The Coalition Government invested $6,000 toward the project with Henley Football Club Inc contributing the remaining $2,432.
