Have your say to build a better Grubb Road
The community is invited to provide feedback and share their ideas on the future of Grubb Road, at an information session on Tuesday 9 October.
The ideas will be included in a planning study investigating safety and congestion-busting improvements for the road, located between the Bellarine Highway and The Parade in Ocean Grove.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack said the discussion was a chance for the community to share their experience of the road and ideas for future upgrades.
“There has been significant growth in Ocean Grove and the entire Bellarine Peninsula, so it is important that we continue to plan for the future,” Mr McCormack said.
Minister for Roads and Road Safety Luke Donnellan said Regional Roads Victoria wants to hear from locals about how safety can be improved on the road, the impact of current traffic demands and what can be done to meet future growth in the area.
“With a history of crashes and a life tragically lost on this road, it's time to act—so we're taking the community with us to see how we can make this road safer,” Mr Donnellan said.
Federal Member for Corangamite Sarah Henderson said feedback from the session would be incorporated into the planning process.
“Listening to the Ocean Grove community on this important road upgrade is so important. This information session will allow everyone to have their say,” Ms Henderson said.
State Member for Bellarine Lisa Neville encouraged the community to have their say.
“We want to hear from the people who travel on Grubb Road everyday—tell us what's important to you and how we can upgrade this road to deliver the best outcome for our community,” Ms Neville said.
The Grubb Road discussion will be held at Shell Road Pavilion on 9 October, from 6pm to 8pm.
