Her Honour the Honourable Vicki O’Halloran AM has been reappointed by the Governor-General, His Excellency General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK MC (Retd) as the Northern Territory Administrator, continuing her ongoing advocacy and passion for the people of the Northern Territory.

Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories Sussan Ley said Her Honour’s reappointment would begin from 31 October 2019, for a one-year term.

“The Australian Government looks forward to continuing a strong relationship with the Northern Territory Administrator, and I would like to congratulate Her Honour on her reappointment,” Ms Ley said.

Chief Minister of the Northern Territory Michael Gunner said to date, Her Honour, with the support of her husband Craig, had undertaken around 1,000 public engagements in support of Territorians and welcomed more than 7,000 people to Government House.

“I welcome the reappointment of Her Honour as Administrator of the Northern Territory for a further year,” Mr Gunner said.

“Her Honour is an energetic and noteworthy advocate for the people of the Territory and during her time in office has brought Government House to life through a diverse and innovative community engagement program supporting local charities, not-for-profit groups and independent organisations.

Her Honour was made a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM) in 2014 for her significant service to people with a disability. In 2016 she was the NT finalist for the Australian of the Year award.
