Media Release

DC143/2017

31 May 2017

I am saddened to learn that yesterday three people on board a light aircraft were killed near Renmark, South Australia.

One of the occupants was a CASA staff member, Stephen Guerin.

Mr Guerin was regarded as a well-respected aviation professional, and I extend my sympathies to his family and work colleagues.

I am advised that South Australian Police have secured the scene and the ATSB are conducting preliminary investigations.

On behalf of the Australian Government I would also like to extend thoughts and prayers to the family and loved ones of all those on board.
