Minister for Indigenous Affairs
Leader of the Nationals in the Senate
Country Liberals Senator for the Northern Territory

The Coalition Government's election commitment to deliver a world class indoor netball stadium for local, inter-state and international netballers is a step closer with concept plans released for public comment today.

Minister for Regional Development Fiona Nash said that the Coalition Government was determined to create the type of communities that our children and grandchildren want to either stay in or coma back to, and building state of the art facilities like these were a big part of that.

Country Liberals Senator for the Northern Territory, Nigel Scullion, said the stadium would be a great new community asset that would allow the popular sport of netball to be played all year round and attract national events.

“This new indoor netball facility is great example of the Coalition Government's absolute commitment to ensuring Territorians have access to the same level of amenity as people living in larger centres around the country,” Senator Scullion said.

The new netball stadium will not only bring in national and international tournaments, but it will give the sport a big boost for the Territory's 3000 netball players, and help to make the sport even bigger and better.

The Coalition Government is investing $8 million into the facility in partnership with the Northern Territory Government, who is investing $10 million. Construction is set to commence in August this year.
