- Seven projects across the Eden-Monaro electorate creating over 70 jobs
The Eden-Monaro business community is set for a boost from seven projects under the Turnbull Coalition Government's Regional Jobs and Investment Package creating over 70 jobs.
Minister for Regional Development, Territories and Local Government John McVeigh said the projects would generate 35 jobs during construction and more than 35 ongoing.
“After an extensive assessment process involving strong community input, seven projects totalling almost $1.6 million will be delivered providing residents with a range of employment and investment opportunities,” Dr McVeigh said.
“Unlike Shorten Labor, the Turnbull Coalition Government is committed to strengthening regional Australia.
“It's essential we help regions like the New South Wales South Coast unlock their potential by investing in key projects that support their economic future.
“This $220 million pilot program being rolled out in 10 regions across the nation is designed to diversify regional economies, particularly those that have undergone large structural changes, to help drive economic growth and jobs.”
Senator for New South Wales Jim Molan said the Turnbull Coalition's investment in local communities encouraged further local spending and investing—underpinning more jobs for the region.
“The Coalition Government is focussed on delivering a strong economy and thanks to this package, we have been able to partner with the private sector to deliver almost $5 million to the local economy,” Senator Molan said.
“Thanks to a near-$600,000 investment, Ryefield Enterprises will expand the operations of Ryefield Hops farm, allowing them to be commercially competitive in the Australian hop and craft beer industry.
“We'll also see projects such as the construction of additional poultry housing and feeding facilities, production of custom made hearses, an ice-cream manufacturing facility and a range of other projects—all of which will provide jobs and support the region for years to come.”
