As part of the Australian Government's commitment to the education, health and safety of children and families on Norfolk Island, an additional $17.9 million will be invested over the next four years to provide reliable internet access to students at the school, increase vocational education and training opportunities and improve child and family wellbeing services on Island.

I was very pleased that one of the first things I was able to do when I commenced in the role as Minister was secure additional funding for important community projects on Norfolk Island through the Mid-Year Economic and Fiscal Outlook (MYEFO) process. MYEFO is the time of year when government considers its priorities, how projects are tracking, and what additional funds may be required.
- Cascade Pier upgrade complete and fisherman’s crane re-installed
I am very pleased the Cascade Pier upgrade is now complete and the fisherman’s crane has been re‑installed. I am aware this significant infrastructure project has been underway for some time, and that this valuable asset will be open to the public from today, Saturday 21 April 2018.
