$7.5m boost for the SA Motorsport Park

Assistant Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Jamie Briggs and Member for Barker Tony Pasin today announced $7.5 million to support the development of SA Motorsport Park at Tailem Bend through the National Stronger Regions Fund
Federal Member for Barker Tony Pasin said funding for essential access and service connections for SA Motorsport Park at Tailem Bend was a big win for South Australia.
“SA Motorsport Park will cement South Australia as the motorsport capital of Australia, with Tailem Bend as the jewel in the Crown of South Australia's motorsport infrastructure,” said Mr Pasin.
“I wish to pay tribute to Dr Sam Shahin and his team for developing this exciting vision and being prepared to invest in the people of the Murray Mallee to see that vision become a reality.
“This project will boost employment opportunities locally with 350 jobs created during the construction phase of the project, and an additional 25 jobs on completion of the project.
“The investments announced today focus on strengthening communities in Barker, by improving economic growth, boosting productivity and creating employment opportunities.”
Assistant Minister Briggs said the National Stronger Regions Fund will deliver $1 billion over five years to enhance economic growth and sustain regions into the future.
“After a competitive merit-based selection process, Government funding has been approved for 51 local projects around the country.
“We are committed to strengthening regions across Australia by investing in projects to build or upgrade vital infrastructure,” Mr Briggs said.
