Regional Access Arrangements at Kingsford Smith Airport

Media Release

DC070/2016

06 May 2016

Today the Turnbull Government can announce that we will continue long-standing pricing protections for regional airlines in New South Wales (NSW) when they access Sydney's Kingsford Smith Airport.

These protections have been in place since Kingsford Smith Airport was privatised in 2002 and have ensured that prices for regional aviation services within NSW remain reasonable.

They also ensure Australians continue to have affordable and efficient aviation access to and from Sydney for medical treatment, to conduct business and to visit family and friends.

The Turnbull Government supports regional Australians and recognises the importance of being able to access the city when needed.
